Attorneys: Law Firm Associate

Associate level placement has been a vital part of G&S recruiting business since we were founded in 1986. Our clients include prominent national law firms, boutique specialty firms, regional and local firms, thus we are able to provide associate attorney candidates with various options tailored to their backgrounds and interests.

Associates who select G&S to assist in their lateral employment search receive individualized attention from one of our experienced recruiters, who works directly with the associate on a continuing basis throughout the search process. We meet individually with each associate candidate at the outset of the search in order to understand thoroughly his or her practice capabilities and interests, to review expectations and to establish realistic objectives. As part of our service, we offer suggestions regarding the preparation of resumes and relevant supporting documentation. We assist the associate in refining his or her interviewing techniques and in effectively representing his or her strengths to potential employers.

Our recruiters present associates with opportunities consistent with their qualifications and interests and provide background market knowledge on the potential employers (firm culture, practice group reputation, billable hour expectations, compensation system, etc). G&S distinguishes its services by providing meaningful insight into specific positions; we do not merely identify a laundry list of openings.  Once an associate candidate determines in which options he or she is interested and authorizes G&S to make a confidential inquiry with the prospective law firm employer, direct contact is made. During the interview process, we assist in scheduling meetings and providing the associate with background on the individuals he or she will meet.  We function as a facilitator and assist in answering questions and developing information that either the associate candidate or the employer may require. We also are available to assist in evaluating employment offers and providing advice on realistic compensation levels and on entering status issues. In short, our recruiters are here to act as an associate’s objective advisor in facilitating a successful and informed career transition.
